William Henry Bagley was born on 8 October 1841, in Northampton, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada, his father, Edward Cyrenius Bagley, was 32 and his mother, Julia Anne Grant, was 26. He married Hannah Brunyer on 6 September 1861, in Charleston, Wasatch, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 7 daughters. He lived in Wallsburg, Wasatch, Utah, United States in 1900. He died on 25 January 1923, in Charleston, Wasatch, Utah, United States, at the age of 81, and was buried in Charleston Cemetery, Charleston, Wasatch, Utah, United States.

Hannah Brunyer was born on 30 April 1844, in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom, her father, Herman Brunyer, was 45 and her mother, Lucy Crich, was 39. She married William Henry Bagley on 6 September 1861, in Charleston, Wasatch, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 7 daughters. She lived in Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1860 and Utah, United States in 1870. She died on 11 June 1919, in Charleston, Wasatch, Utah, United States, at the age of 75, and was buried in Charleston, Wasatch, Utah, United States.

The following information was taken from How Beautiful Upon the Mountains page 640.

“William Bagley married Hannah Burnes (Brunyer) when she was 16 years old. She had come to Utah in 1853. They first lived in Charleston, then moved to the Fort String in Midway, returning to Charleston again when the Indian scare subsided.

Mr. Bagley was a guard at the Fort. He helped to pioneer Provo Valley. Hannah helped by herding sheep. She took wool on shares to spin and make into clothing for her husband and children.

Both she and her husband rendered real service to the early pioneers of Wasatch giving help and comfort in sickness and distress. They gave of their time and talents without restraint.”

The Bagley homestead pictured below, was located on the west side of the Provo River at mouth of Decker Canyon. William was hopeful to bring the water from Deer Creek through Decker Canyon to water the fields of his homestead. This was never fully completed but the work he did attempting this ditch remains in Decker Canyon.
